SILT CURTAIN

Turbidity Eco Barriers Atlantic supplies silt curtains to the dredging, offshore petro chemical industry and civil construction sectors. A full range of turbidity barriers, complete with floatation elements and ties for holding the membranes are provided to sand reclaiming, waste pollution control, port construction, lake and channel dredging projects.

They are flexible vertical floating turbidity barriers extending from surface of the water to a specific desired depth, designed to prevent the spread of silt and sediment during dredging, marine construction or pile driving activities in waterbodies.

TYPES OF SILT CURTAINS/ TURBIDITY BARRIERS

  • Type I, are designed for calm water areas such as ponds, lakes and harbors where the tides are low and few waves. These barriers increase settling times and prevent silt and sediment spreading into the waterbody.
  • Type II, are designed using reliable and robust materials to be installed in areas where the wind speed is less than 1 knot and wave height less than 2 feet.
  • Type III, are made from high strength fabric for demanding conditions and longer duration where the wind speed is 1.5 knot. are made from high strength fabric for demanding conditions and longer duration where the wind speed is 1.5 knot.
